Do you ever wonder....

Rock N' Roll 4Ever!
Do you ever wonder what your parents were like when they were younger? I do!

At some point, I'm going to have to sit down with my parents and get a full biography on what their lives were like back-in-the-day. I mean, I have bits and pieces of their past, but I want to know what they were really like.....were they the nerd? Were they jocks? Did they break the rules? Or were they goody-two-shoes?
Here is a picture of my dad in his mid-late 20's (I believe). Make your own assumptions :) This picture was taken before I was born (or right after).
My dad was a hard core rocker and could play the guitar and bass (he actually owns them!). He used to play in a band! We have old records (yes, records!) of Metallica, AC/DC, Black Sabbath, Deep Purple...etc. Check out the fluffy hair and skin tight jeans! This was one of the many passions (besides sports) that he had in life! I love my daddy! - O yeah, those sparkling blue pants that my dad is wearing: I found them in an old box thinking I could wear them for Halloween my Sophomore year in high school, (but unfortunately) I couldn't fit into them!!!! Sad, but true.....
I know it's blurry, but enjoy!

Rockin Robin!!

Whoop whoop!! Robin (aka mini-me) came by sometime in March, to spend some time with me and Chris! It was her first trip to Oregon by herself (sort of). Well, at least her first major trip in her new ride!

She came in her new ride: Sea Green 2008 Toyota Yaris with her (now ex-man) Tan. We had tons of FUN!!!

She was already being destructive as soon as she got here (turn up the sound!):

Juan had a guitar lying around in his garage and offered for us to smash it. Robin was the lucky candidate. I don't think Robin would make a great rocker. You don't see many people squeal when they're destroying their guitars.....If you watch closely, you'll see that the beaten guitar gets it's chance to pay Robin back for all the damage :) (it comes back and hits her in the head). It was VERY entertaining.

Before:

After: (she looks so innocent) check out her new ride in the background (the car on the left).

The Carnage:

I took them shopping the next day. We went to Top to Bottom's (ghetto clothing place), Lloyd Center and then they visited Washington Square. Robin spent a LOAD of money. Youd've thought she was growin them on trees!

We also went bowling later that night......what was interesting was that there was a group of Thai people bowling in the lane next to us! We thought they were an extinct species around in these parts (besides the restaurants of course!)!

You can tell that Robin LOVES to take pictures.....Sunday we had bomb breakfast cooked by moi, and she and Tan hit the road! It was great fun! I can't wait to have her over again! I miss you Robin!!

Anxiously Engaged!! :)

I can't believe it's FINALLY happened!!!! I'm engaged!! I'm so incredibly excited! Our wedding date is set for June 21st at the Portland Temple with a ring ceremony and reception to follow at 6 pm in the 206th building right off TV Hwy.

THE PROPOSAL: Saturday, March 29th @ around 2:00pm we decide to take Tuffy for a walk. As soon as we get outside, it starts hailing madly (of course ^_^). Our typical routine is to stop a ways before we enter the forest, I'll hold Tuffy, while Chris runs into the park to hide (it's Tuffy's favorite hide and seek game). Then we walk along a trail that takes us to the other side of the park and head home.

Chris told me not to let Tuffy go until he said so. So I was holding onto Tuffy for the longest time...all this time while I'm waiting, Chris is sprinting down the trail and frantically trying to set up my "surprise" before I found out where he is. I let Tuffy go and make my way down to the park. I see that Chris is coming out from the trail (which is where he NEVER hides) and of course, think nothing of it. We head down the trail (I'm leading) and I see a brown envelope hanging from a branch. "O Look babe! It's a letter!" I exclaimed with delight....until we get a little closer and I see that it is addressed to me. I'm a little creeped out by this, but then Chris tells me to open it. When I do, I find that he made me a sample version of our wedding invitations (so adorable), to which I commented, "Wow honey! These are so cute! Where did you have them made?" I finally turn around to face him and that's when he got on one knee, popped open the ring case and presented me with the stunning ring (above). Yes, I cried, I was shocked and surprised, I was happy and felt blessed.....it's about darn time!

THE ANNOUNCEMENT: On a whim, we decided to drive to Seattle (left at 4:00pm) to tell our parents and call the rest of our family.....here were their reactions:

Panida (my mommy) and Robin: gave a mock invite to my mom. As soon as we got in she was offering us food and wouldn't open the card! After a couple of minutes of her running around in the kitchen and finding food for us to eat, she looked at it and congratulated us :) We saw Robin later that night and she was cheesed out by proposal story, looked at the ring and was amazed! She said she was so happy and sent us a sweet text message later telling us how happy she was for us later that night.

Dan and Judy: We surprised them at dinner time when we showed up. Lee, her kids and Kent and his boys were also there having steak/hamburger fajitas. I tried to hide my ring by pulling my sleeves over it, but LeeAnna was already on the snoop as soon as we got in and called us out on the engagement before we even had a chance to say anything ^_^! We gave the mock invitation to Dan and Judy anyway and everyone was still excited and happy about our engagement. The most memorable part for me was seeing Danno cheer with his his hands waving in the air when he read on our invitation about getting sealed in the Portland Temple, LOL.

Lawrence (my Daddy): He was the last person we saw. He came home from work late and as soon as we walked in the door he was talking nonstop about anything! My dad would only allow a 2 second pause in between subjects and would cut Chris off each tried to make the announcment! LOL, me and Chris just started to laugh about it after 10 minutes. Finally Chris cut him off and told him about our engagement. My dad was completely shocked and then asked how old I was. He stated that he felt like an old man. Then he had a beer for celebration. His wife came home and she gawked at my ring, asked my dad when she was going to get one and congratulated us!

We called as many people as we could to tell them of the news! So if we forgot about you, we're sorry! What a wonderful time! I'm so excited for us to start our new lives together! Only 2.5 weeks to plan!
