General Conference October 2008!!!

So me and Chris had the most exciting opportunity to go to Stake Conference last October in Salt Lake City Utah!! It was incredibly spiritual and wonderfully fantastic! We were excited to be going with Chris parents (Danno and Judy). Every trip that we go on with them is always fun and exciting! Some memorable experiences included F.O.N (Freak of Nature). I can't remember exactly what this was about, but I speculate that it had something to do with poop. We seriously laughed FOREVER about FON and it remains a wonderful memory. We got to hear stories of Dan's childhood/teenage hood and what it was like to grow up in his era. It makes me thankful for the technology and wonderful inventions we have in this day and age that makes our lives SO much easier (sometimes we don't realize this). I ended up losing my wedding bracelet :( A very sad day indeed. I think I dropped it while we were walking to get to conference. (sigh) We stayed in the most luxurious hotel....I especially like the red dark spots that came with me and Chris's sheets. While we were trying to pass a large semi truck on the freeway, a large rock came off the top of the semi and cracked Chris's winshield...TWICE!!! We got the lisence plate and number off the truck and stopped at the next exit and located a cop to see if we could file a report. The cop turned out to be LDS and served in the stake presidency for his area. Long story short, the cop was nice and Chris couldn't get any reparations for the damaged winshield (of course).

All in all, for my first experience at conference, I believe that is was most spiritual. We went to both morning sessions on Saturday and Sunday. This conference's messages were all powerful. It was a most wonderful experience to be in the auditorium when the new temples were announced (to hear the excitement, whisperings and laughter following). It is a completely different experience being there :) I'm glad we went and hope to go more often. The Salt Lake City Temple was breathtaking as well as temple square. I'm am so thankful for the Savior and for the gospel he has placed on this earth for us. I am thankful for our Savior's atonement and for the wonderful Plan here on earth. I hope that everyone in the world will be able to hear His word, and to feel the infinite happiness that He provides to us when we have faith, believe and repent. Enjoy the pictures!

Finally coming out of Hibernation (sort of)

O wow! Sorry! It's been about 2 months since my last blog and after much prodding (from Alex), I'm finally here to give you guys a brief update!

Me and Chris spent a week in Alaska in July for our "honeymoon." It was fantastic. The fishing was okay (Chris caught a 38-40lb King, and I caught a whopping 10!), but the sights were beautiful. I would like to definitely move down there someday. Absolutely breathtaking! We went on a day cruise and saw lots of wildlife (whales, birds/eagles, seals and even Jellyfish!). We were also fortunate to get a couple pictures of bears (up close and personal!). It was a fantastic trip and we hope to go back again someday. Some pictures below.....

We saw whales!

There are supposed to be birds in this picture, but i don't know if you can see them.

Holy seals...that's a lot of blubber!

It was but cold outside but you know I have to take a picture with my boo....unfortunately (and surprisingly) I got motion sickness and had to buy medicine on the boat! I'm gettin' old....

Getting up close and personal with the glaciers. Here is a picture of glacier debris. They were HUGE! You could hear the ice snap, crackle and pop!

Here is the glacier. It was a MILE wide! It was absolutely beautiful. This picture does no justice....
Anyways.....we were really excited to see our wonderful sister-in-law Alex Miller get baptised into the church. The ceremony was great, and, as always, Alex made some funny comments to lighten everyone's moods :) I know that she will be blessed for the rest of her life in making this wonderful choice. We are soooo happy for her!
Robin just turned 20 years old today! She still looks like she is 16! I can't even to begin to describe how crazy old I feel. Happy Birthday to her!
I'm super excited for Halloween. It's one of my most favorite holidays! My workplace is cool and they allow everyone to dress up. I am totally going to take advantage of it.
So hopefully i'll get this blog thingy updated more frequently. The married life is wonderful and I am so thankful to have Chris in my life. He is salt to my pepper, the nougat in my Baby Ruth, my sunshine in the storm, the cream in my coffee (if I drank any). He continues to strengthen me throughout my trials, I am so thankful for his support and love.
Late!

I Chopped It Off!!!

No, it's not what you think.... :)

I finally had the guts to cut my hair shorter than the normal "trim." First I asked Chris if I should cut it and he said "Don't." Then I asked Robin (my 'lil sis) to see if I should cut it and she said, "Seriously Roxanne don't cut it, it won't look good." Then I showed the hairstylist the pix of how I wanted it cut and asked for her opinion and she said, "I don't know if it will look good." Well folks, contrary to what everyone thinks about my haircut.....

Bam! I actually think it doesn't look too bad! I like it! It's one of those A-Bob's or something like that, so it gets super short in the back! Let me know what ya think! Muhuahahahahah! Ahhhhh! It feels so good to have short hair in the hot weather! It's also nice not to have to run the blowdryer for 15 minutes trying to get it dry.....I LOVE IT!

Remember That One Time?

For the 3 people that actually read my blog....(sigh)

Here's how it works:

1. As a comment on my blog, leave one memory that you and I had together. It doesn't matter if you knew me a little or a lot, anything you remember!

2. Next, re-post these instructions on your blog and see how many people leave a memory about you. It's actually pretty funny to see the responses. If you leave a memory about me, I'll assume you're playing the game and I'll come to your blog and leave one about you!

My Perfect Wedding!

My Perfect Wedding!

Yay! I'm FINALLY married! Me and Chris truly had a wonderful wedding! It was perfect from the weather, to being sealed in the Portland LDS temple, to our fabulous ring ceremony, the delicious food and cake and our fantastic reception! I was so happy with all the family that came and really appreciate all the hardwork of family and friends to make our day so special! Everything went as smoothly as I could've wished for!

I would like to reflect that I know our Savior lives. I know that he meant for us to all have joy and to join him in His Kingdom for all eternity at the last day. I am so thankful for the temple, for the strong and gracious Spirit and wonderful revelations that it provides for us. I am so thankful and happy to be eternally sealed and married to my wonderful, fantastically gorgeous, dedicated and worth husband, Christopher. I am so thankful for my Savior's love and for the protection, strength and guidance that he has given to Chris and I. We are so happy to have been sealed to the temple. It is truly the right thing to do. No regrets, no worries, and infinite happiness. And did I happen to mention that i LOVE being married! (granted, it's only been a week and a half....). I love my family and my friends. Thank you to all of you for your love, help and support! Enjoy the slideshow!

Highlights:
14 hours of set-up
Getting Sealed in the Portland Temple - I was so overwhelmed with joy and the Spirit coming out!

Walking Down the aisle with my Daddy during the ring ceremony.
Danno telling me not to be so irritable and Chris not to be so irritating during the ceremony speech (words of advice).
Robin taking down the arch with her dress.

The decorated car.
Mt Hood trip for a couple of days of isolation ^_^

I know I'm forgetting a lot, but O Well! :)

Last week of Bachelorette-dom!!

Wow! Last weekend was absolutely FANTASTIC!!! Me and Chris were able to go to the Seattle temple to get our endowments!! Yay! It was a very powerful and deeply spiritual experience. One that I will definitely NOT forget! I was completely overwhelmed by the feelings that I had going in, and coming out. One thing is for sure: I definitely want to go back! I can honestly say that it was one of the most exhilarating, happy and most spirtual days of my life. I can't wait to go to the Portland temple to get sealed to Chris for time and all eternity! I know that me and Chris have definitely grown closer (if that is possible) after this ^_^. I am so thankful to have such a wonderful man in my life. I am thankful that he is an active member of the church, holds the priesthood, and can go to the temple with me. What a wonderful feeling it is to have the man that you love share and appreciate in the most important and wonderful things you hold dear in your life! I am so proud of myself to hitting yet another big milestone in my journey of life and am thankful for the Savior's love and teachings.

Chris's parents acted as our escorts into the temple. Me and Chris were super excited and nervous and I didn't get a wink of sleep the night before! Robin was sweet enought to do my hair for this wonderful occasion. Our wonderful friends, Matt and Ernie (aka Erin), were sweet enough to drive down from Hillsboro for our endowments. Aunt Kathy and Uncle John, Lora, Kyla and Siggy, and my good friend Yani, were some of the few that made it to the session. How blessed we are to have such great family and friends to share in our special occasion! Afterwards we went to Red Robin for a somewhat light lunch......

Later that evening, I met up with Leebo, Judy, Robin and my mom for dinner and to kick off my bachelorette party! It was great fun! We ate BOMB food at the Keg and me, Leebo and Robin ended up going to a comedy club in the U-District called Giggles. It was the finals of a comedy competition and we got to see 6 comedians duke it out for the title. Chris went to his bachelor party with Kirk, Biff, Jamie, Kent, Danno, Siggy, Jermaine and John. O yeah, and Robin being the awesome photographer that she is, took a whole bunch of pictures of me after she did my hair b/c she complains all the time that I never get dressed up for anything :). All in all it was great fun! Enjoy the pix!
